About Cedarstone Research

What does Cedarstone Research do?

We are an independent research house providing foreign exchange research, macroeconomic outlooks and currency hedging advisory to private individuals, family offices, businesses and professional investors.

Who are your clients?

Individuals, families and businesses with meaningful exposure to currencies other than their own, across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Do you manage money or hold client funds?

No. We provide research and advisory. Where clients choose to hedge, execution is arranged through our banking and liquidity partners.

Research

What research will I receive?

Clients receive our full research programme: the Daily FX Brief, Weekly FX Outlook, Monthly Macro Review, Quarterly Currency Outlook, Thematic Deep Dives, Event Previews & Reviews and Market Alerts.

Which currencies do you cover?

The G10 currencies, a wide range of emerging market currencies, and GCC currencies. See our Currency Coverage page. We can also cover specific currencies through bespoke research.

Is your research a recommendation to trade?

No. Our published research is general market analysis and does not take your personal circumstances into account. Personal advice is only given within an advisory relationship.

Can I see a sample before committing?

Yes. Request a sample report and we'll send you a recent publication.

Hedging advisory

What is currency hedging?

Hedging is using financial tools to reduce the impact of exchange-rate movements on a future payment, receipt or investment. The aim is certainty, not profit.

Do I need to hedge?

Not necessarily. It depends on the size and timing of your exposure and how much a currency move would affect you. We help you decide, and "don't hedge" can be the right answer.

Can you arrange the hedge for me?

Yes. Where appropriate, we arrange execution through our network of banking and liquidity partners and support you through onboarding.

Do you offer Shariah-compliant hedging?

We can discuss Shariah-compliant structures, such as forwards based on the wa'd, and arrange execution through partners that offer them. The acceptability of any structure is a matter for your own Shariah advisers.
